I walked the shoreline around the light house that stands guard like a beacon in the harbor.
Past the hotel with a million stories to be told,
and the homes of the privileged who call this island home.
I swam in the warm Atlantic waters in the heat of the summer; finding peace in the sea.
The salty breeze and and pungent smells of the oceans harvest fill the air
Along the docks of this old fishing town, there stands a fleets of ships looking worse for ware.
Sea birds gather when they smell the hearty chowder I found for lunch
they seek a hand out, they would die for a piece of bread, or a potato instead
All of these help paint the canvas of rich memories I hold so dear
Never have i enjoyed a summer like the summer I spent breathing that salty Vineyard air.
